Projects
Ottomatic Projects
Ottomatic Projects are a DevOps tool intended to elevate the FileMaker development and deployment experience. Projects can be thought of as a collection of files under development and all of their acompanying metadata, such as change control, release history, and the servers where those files are deployed.
Ottomatic Projects is currently in beta and is subject to change. During the beta period, users are limited to a single project. If you have any issues or feedback, please send in a ticket in the Cloud Console.
Projects for development
As part of Ottomatic Projects, you can make Checkpoints of your project's files. These checkpoints can be used to diff changes to your files over time, and to keep track of features and bug fixes using Change Notes. Check out the Checkpoints page for more information.
Projects for deployment
When you're ready to deploy your project, you can create a Release. This will package your project's files into an OttoFMS Build which you can use for deployments. As part of the release process you can also do Semantic Versioning to keep track of your project's version history.
Projects for organization
Beyond their use for the development lifecycle, Projects are a great way to collocate information about your FileMaker projects. You can add notes, links, and servers to a project and keep them organized in a single location. You can also quick-launch FileMaker files from within the Projects interface for any of the servers you've added to a project.
