Project Tools

Ottomatic Projects exposes a few quality of life tools to help you work with your FileMaker projects.

The project description (editable from the Dashboard or Settings pages) is a rich text editor that lets you store any data you'd like about the project. This can be used to add guidance, setup steps, links to external resources (like docs, a task list, or a copy of OttoDeploy), or any other information you'd like to add.

In the list of files on the Project Dashboard, you can click on the FileMaker icon next to the file name to quickly launch the file on your primary server. If you have multiple servers, there is a dropdown next to the FileMaker icon to select which server to launch the file on.

If you want to quickly access a specific project from the Spotlight search (Cmd+K), you can add it to your favorites by clicking the star icon next to the project name on the Project List page.
